Flo Perkins

Thirty five kilometers north of Santa Fe, New Mexico in the Rio Grande River valley, at her studio by the sand formed hills called Las Barrancas. Flo Perkins has been practicing and refining a type of glassblowing that combines the imagery of the American West with techniques developed in Murano Italy, centuries ago. The mysterious way that these flowers appear in the desert as if from nowhere is similar to the way that colors and forms appear apparently effortlessly at the glass furnace. She began her collaboration with Venini in 2007.
