Sotirios Papadopoulos

Sotirios Papadopoulos is an Architect, Designer, Production Designer and he is chairman at the Design School (de.school) in the Academy of Fine Arts ABAV at Verona – Italy.
He graduated in Architecture from I.U.A.V. – Venice Italy in 1989.
He got his Master’s degree in Architecture and Production Design from University of Southern California – Los Angeles – USA in the 90’s and after a short period of traveling and working in the Architecture and Design field in the states, he established in Europe, Italy between Milan and Verona city where he still lives and teaches.
He works in private and public constructions, interiors, industrial design, set design, outdoor and interior lighting and he is the founder of a new artistic movement called “Fragilism” founded between Italy, France and Portugal.
He was awarded in various competitions and published in various magazines worldwide.
He is a visiting professor of the University of Florida and he conducted several workshops with the Architecture school of HUST University – China. In 2017 together with Nicole Visonà began his collaboration with Venini.

Technique

Bands

This technique consists in melting some colored bands over a transparent glass mass. These bands are then covered with another layer of transparent glass. In this way it is possible to obtain a very interesting multicolored drawing.
