In 2010, Thorpe established New York-based Marc Thorpe Design, as an architectural and design co-operative, active in the creation of progressive design solutions for the commercial, residential and leisure sectors. He has worked extensively in Europe, Asia and the US as an architect and designer, and continues to collaborate on projects with a wide range of partners. Thorpe has been published internationally in design journals and texts including Wallpaper*, International Design (ID), Viewpoint, Mix, Surface, Interni, Frame, Absolute Architecture and Interior Design Magazine.
In 2016, he was selected as the feature cover story for international design magazine Intramuros. His firm, Marc Thorpe Design (MTD) have worked with leading international brands including the Mercedes Benz, Under Armour, Stella Artois, IBM, Saatchi & Saatchi, Hearst, Cappellini, Tod’s, Acura, David Yurman, L’Oreal, Esquire, Moroso, Yahoo, Davidoff and Infiniti. He starts to collaborate with Venini in 2018.
In the late 30’s the glass masters started to realize some new techniques, for which the decorative element is fundamental. Beaten and cut glass is characterized by an engraved surface with small irregular parallel scratches.
