Murrine Romane

1940

Numbered Edition

These Murrine are called “roman” due to their graphic signs and beacuse they seem to create an optical illusion. They are a rare and precious object like it was popular during the Roman Empire, made of essential geometrical shapes. Carlo Scarpa was always very concentrated on colors and in this glass work color is indeed the protagonist. Colors mix creating new graphic and
chromatic effects.
